Privacy

This page is the public privacy policy for the ScreenTabs Chrome extension. A copy also ships inside the extension so you can read it offline after you load unpacked or install from the store.

What stays on this device

ScreenTabs stores workspaces, open-window assignments, focus history, and a local copy of your layouts in chrome.storage.local on this device.

ScreenTabs does not upload:

• browsing history
• open tabs or URLs
• saved workspaces
• page contents
• current window IDs

What the extension reads

The extension reads open Chrome windows and tabs so it can snap, move, and restore them. It can run on pages you already opened so Watch in zone can find an HTML5 video and place that window. It does not send page contents anywhere.

Permissions exist for that local work:

• tabs and tabGroups to read and move tabs you already have open
• storage to keep settings and workspaces on this device
• system.display to read monitor bounds and work areas
• contextMenus for the right-click actions
• host access on pages you already opened, so video commands can run in that tab

Website accounts

If you create an account, Firebase Authentication stores your email and password hash. Firestore stores that email, whether the account is Pro, and checkout timestamps. If you sign in inside the extension, Firestore also stores display layouts, custom layouts, tile modes, display names, and settings for that account. Chrome tabs, saved workspaces, and window IDs are not part of that record.

Stripe handles Pro checkout. ScreenTabs does not store card numbers. Verified Stripe events activate Pro on the account. ScreenTabs stores payment identifiers, amount, currency, and activation time for fulfillment. The extension reads your Pro status to enable automation and does not upload browsing data.

This website uses Firebase and a payment webhook. The host may collect standard server logs. ScreenTabs does not add its own tracker, cookie banner, or marketing pixel.

Children

ScreenTabs is a window manager for Chrome. It is not directed at children. A website account collects an email address. Do not create an account for a child.

Changes

The extension reads your account's Pro status. Saved workspaces and placement rules remain on your device. Signed-in layouts and settings can be restored from the account. Exported backups contain saved website addresses; share them only with people you trust.
